Women Need Only Family or Husband’s Permission to Join Hajj 2025

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced new rules for Pakistani women planning to perform Hajj in 2025. Under the updated policy, women must get permission from their husband or family to participate in the pilgrimage.

However, women can now travel for Hajj without a male guardian (mahram) if they meet certain conditions approved by the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII). They must join a trusted group of female pilgrims for safety. This is a major change from previous restrictions on women traveling alone.

The new rules also specify that children under 12 cannot take part in Hajj. Additionally, all pilgrims must follow Saudi Arabia’s vaccination requirements before traveling.

Pakistan has been given 179,210 Hajj slots for 2025. These guidelines aim to improve organization and ensure the safety and comfort of all pilgrims.
