White House Joins TikTok to Amplify Trump’s Message

The White House has launched its official TikTok account, @whitehouse, to reach the platform’s 170 million U.S. users and amplify President Donald Trump’s message. The first post, featuring Trump declaring “I am your voice,” was captioned: “America we are BACK! What’s up TikTok?” Trump, who credited the app for connecting with younger voters during his 2024 campaign against Kamala Harris, already has over 15 million followers on his personal account @realdonaldtrump. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the move aims to expand outreach and build on past successes. The launch, however, comes amid ongoing concerns in Congress over TikTok’s Chinese ownership and data security risks.
