The Sindh government announced that all public and private schools and colleges in Karachi will remain closed on Wednesday due to forecasts of heavy rainfall. Education Minister Sardar Shah said the decision was taken as a precaution to ensure students’ safety, with further directives to follow depending on the weather situation. The closure comes after heavy monsoon rains flooded several areas, disrupted traffic, and caused prolonged power outages across the city. Education officials added that the step will protect students, teachers, and staff while drainage and relief operations continue. Areas including Saadi Town, Gulshan-i-Maymar, Nazimabad, Gulshan-i-Hadeed, Malir, Surjani Town, and Shahrah-i-Faisal were among the worst affected by Tuesday’s downpour.
