Karachi and several parts of Sindh faced severe disruption on Thursday as prolonged power outages and waterlogging continued two days after heavy monsoon rains. Many areas, including North Nazimabad, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Defence View, Orangi Town, Lyari, Baldia Town, Liaquatabad, Surjani, and Korangi Industrial Area, remained without electricity for 24 to 48 hours, leaving residents also deprived of water supply. Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori took notice of the worsening crisis and announced a meeting with the managing director of K-Electric to address the widespread blackouts across Karachi and Hyderabad, while officials warned that the upcoming monsoon phase could bring even greater challenges.
