Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, Imran khan’s lawyer, is now the senior vice president of PTI

On Wednesday, Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, a key member of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s legal team, assumed the role of senior vice president within the party. The official announcement, shared on the party’s social media account, featured the signed notification by Secretary General Omar Ayub, declaring Marwat’s appointment with immediate effect. Expressing gratitude, Marwat acknowledged the trust placed in him by PTI Chairman Imran Khan and affirmed that his new responsibilities would serve as motivation for increased dedication.

Earlier in the year, PTI leaders Qasim Suri, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, and Saifullah Abro were also appointed as senior vice presidents. Marwat’s association with Imran Khan strengthened during the Toshakhana trial, where he represented the PTI chief. His vocal stance against trial court judge Humayun Dilawar led to his inclusion in the PTI core committee.

It’s noteworthy that in October, Marwat faced legal action with charges of inciting the public against state institutions through social media, falling under sections 120-B (punishment for criminal conspiracy) and 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

In a separate development, former Punjab MPA Seemabia Tahir assumed the role of PTI president for north Punjab. Expressing gratitude for her appointment, she pledged to fulfill her responsibilities with the help of Allah and the cooperation of organizational leaders, aiming to uphold the trust placed in her by the party’s leadership.
