Pakistani Citizens’ Bank Deposits Reach Rs16 Trillion

Ordinary Pakistanis now hold nearly half of the country’s total bank deposits, showing their growing trust in the financial system. According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), personal deposits have crossed Rs. 16 trillion out of the overall Rs. 33.8 trillion by August 2025. This milestone highlights the increasing role of salaried employees, freelancers, small business owners, students, and households in strengthening the economy. Alongside these personal savings, the private sector has contributed Rs. 6.8 trillion, while government deposits make up 15.2% of the total, reflecting a balanced support system for Pakistan’s banking sector and overall economic growth.
