Pakistan’s UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad told the UN General Assembly that the Security Council failed to stop killings in Gaza after a resolution backed by elected members was vetoed. He praised Denmark’s leadership in coordinating the effort and said the resolution aimed to halt bloodshed and deliver urgent aid, but its rejection left millions suffering. Highlighting Gaza’s devastation, he described destroyed homes, famine, and over 66,000 Palestinians killed, mostly women and children, calling it an attempt to erase a people’s future. He urged Israel be held fully accountable and stressed that UN inaction must not silence the global community.
