Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had earlier issued a landmark ruling affirming that a bride retains full and unconditional ownership of her dowry and wedding gifts even after divorce, with Justice Mansoor Ali Shah stating that neither the husband nor his relatives have any legal claim over these items.
