Murtaza Wahab Blames Jamaat-e-Islami Town Chairman for Nipa Incident

Murtaza Wahab clarified that the child who fell last night slipped into a rainwater drainage manhole, not a sewage drain, and said some people are trying to politicize the tragedy. He offered condolences to the family and assured full support as rescue teams continue digging a 500-meter section to locate the child. CCTV footage is being reviewed, and Wahab has ordered an inquiry into why the machinery was stopped, with legal action promised against those responsible. He noted that 80,000 manhole covers were installed last year, but investigators will determine how long this specific cover was missing. Wahab added that the area’s town chairman belongs to Jamaat-e-Islami, stressing that blaming each other will not help and that KMC and the town administration will conduct a complete investigation into the drainage system.
