A three-year-old boy, Ibrahim, tragically fell into an open manhole near Nipa in Karachi’s Gulshan Iqbal area on Sunday night. The child had been out shopping with his family when the accident occurred. Rescue teams conducted a six-hour operation but were unable to retrieve his body. Authorities report that so far this year, 24 people in Karachi—including 19 men and 5 children—have died after falling into open manholes and drains.
