Korangi Creek Blaze Dies Out Naturally After 18 Days

After more than two weeks of intense flames, the massive fire at Korangi Creek was finally extinguished naturally on Tuesday. The blaze, which began on March 28, had resisted control despite an 18-day joint operation by Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), United Energy Pakistan Limited (UEPL), Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), and local fire brigades. Authorities made continuous efforts and, as the situation escalated, the Sindh government also sought support from a renowned U.S.-based firm specializing in global well control and emergency response.
