Trump Halts Harvard Funding Over Inaction on Pro-Palestinian Students

Federal funding to Harvard University has been frozen following the institution’s refusal to meet demands from the Trump administration concerning campus activism and policy reforms. The U.S. Department of Education suspended $2.3 billion in federal aid, including $2.2 billion in grants and $60 million in contracts. The decision comes amid growing pressure on universities to curb pro-Palestinian protests, which the administration claims are fueling anti-Semitic sentiments on campuses. A letter sent to Harvard outlined key demands, including reducing activist influence among students, eliminating diversity and inclusion programs, banning face coverings during protests, and enforcing merit-based hiring and admissions policies.
