Indian pacer Mohammad Siraj dedicates his Man of the Match prize money to Sri Lankan groundsmen

In a recent cricket match held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, India’s fast bowler, Siraj, delivered an outstanding performance, taking numerous wickets against the Sri Lankan team in the championship showdown. His exceptional display played a pivotal role in India’s victory, earning them the Asia Cup trophy after a five-year gap.

What’s particularly commendable about Siraj is that he was honored as the ‘Player of the Match’ and was awarded a cash prize of $5,000. However, he chose to channel this prize money in a meaningful way. Siraj dedicated the amount to the hardworking groundsmen responsible for maintaining the stadium, especially given the persistent rain interruptions during the tournament.

During this match, Siraj’s bowling was nothing short of exceptional, as he managed to secure six wickets in just seven overs, marking his best performance in One Day Internationals (ODIs). This extraordinary feat led India to a swift victory, concluding the match in a little over two hours and leaving Sri Lankan fans astonished by their team’s performance.
