A cross-border love story took an unexpected turn when an Indian man, Badal Babu, 30, from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, was detained while trying to enter Pakistan illegally to meet his beloved.
Badal had fallen in love with a Pakistani woman he met on Facebook. Their online friendship grew into a romance, inspiring him to take the risk of crossing the border to see her in person. However, security forces stopped him, and he has been unable to meet her.
This incident echoes a similar cross-border love story involving Seema Haider, a mother of four, who traveled to India via Nepal to meet her Indian husband, whom she met on the gaming platform PUBG. Seema was arrested along with her children soon after arriving in India.
Both cases highlight the lengths people go to for love, even when faced with significant challenges.
