The wedding celebrations of Shaheen Afridi kicked off with a vibrant mehendi ceremony held on Monday. The nuptials of Pakistan’s renowned fast bowler, Shaheen Afridi, took place at a local venue in Karachi.
The occasion witnessed the gracious presence of several distinguished figures, including Pakistan’s cricket captain, Babar Azam. Among the esteemed cricket stars in attendance were Misbah-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar, Tanveer Ahmed, and Sohail Khan.
Shaheen Afridi’s wedding festivities commenced with the joyful mehendi ceremony on Monday.
As a reminder, Shaheen Afridi entered into wedlock with the daughter of the legendary all-rounder, Shahid Afridi, named Ansha, back in February of this year. The nikkah (marriage contract) was solemnized at a local mosque in Karachi, attended by close relatives from both families.
The valima (wedding reception) is scheduled to take place in Islamabad on September 21. The couple’s engagement had taken place two years prior.
Earlier this year, during an interview on the Geo News show “Aik Din Geo Kai Sath,” the left-arm fast bowler shared that it had been his heartfelt desire to marry Ansha.
“It was my wish, and Alhumdulillah [thanks to Allah Almighty], it has now come true,” said a blushing Shaheen in conversation with the interviewer, Sohail Warraich.
When queried about whether Ansha felt uneasy about his female fan following, Shaheen replied with uncertainty, stating, “I am not sure; maybe she feels something like that.”
Furthermore, the host broached the subject of potentially disappointing a large number of female fans by getting engaged at a relatively young age. To this, Shaheen responded with sincerity, saying, “I have found my heart, and that’s enough for me.”
In a notable development, Shaheen Afridi recently posted a photograph alongside skipper Babar Azam, putting an end to speculations of any discord between the two. There had been various reports suggesting disagreements and arguments between the pair following Pakistan’s loss to Sri Lanka in a crucial Asia Cup 2023 match last week. In the image shared by Shaheen Afridi on the social platform X, he captioned it with ‘family’ and a heart emoji, dispelling any doubts about their camaraderie.
