T20 World Cup: Sri Lanka Urges Pakistan to Reconsider India Match Boycott

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has urged Pakistan to reconsider its decision to boycott the first-round T20 World Cup match against India in Colombo on February 15. Pakistan had announced the boycott to show solidarity with Bangladesh, who were excluded from the tournament after refusing to play in India. SLC warned that skipping the match would cause significant financial losses and negatively impact the country’s tourism sector, still recovering from the 2022 economic crisis. The board also highlighted Pakistan’s past support, including hosting Sri Lanka to revive international cricket in the country. SLC called on Pakistan to consider the historic relationship between the boards and the broader interests of cricket.
