National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq summoned Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for arresting PTI leaders in the parliament’s jurisdiction.
At least 12 PTI MNAs were arrested, along with other party leaders, as law enforcement targeted key figures across Islamabad, including within Parliament House.
Parliamentary rules require police to inform the speaker before arresting any MNA, but they did not seek permission, leading to the summons. Earlier, PTI’s Ali Muhammad Khan criticized the arrests during a passionate speech in the lower house.
