‘May 9 for democracy’: In a fiery National Assembly speech, PTI’s Ali Muhammad Khan criticizes the government for arresting party leaders

On Tuesday, heated arguments erupted in the National Assembly between government and opposition lawmakers after PTI MNAs were arrested in Islamabad, including within the parliament. The arrests followed PTI’s Sangjani rally, with law enforcement detaining key members while others sought refuge in Parliament House.

In a passionate speech, PTI’s Ali Muhammad Khan criticized the arrests, saying, “What happened to democracy and this parliament last night? We are in Pakistan, not Israel.” He also noted that several PTI members, including Maulana Naseem, were arrested while seeking shelter.
