Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has called for a significant overhaul of the national team’s fast bowling unit after their 78-run loss to New Zealand in the tri-nation series opener. In a private news channel interview, Latif criticized senior pacers, especially Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, for their underperformance. He pointed out that Afridi has not delivered a match-winning performance for a while, while Naseem’s contributions are limited despite his experience. Latif also noted that while players like Khushdil Shah and Salman Agha face criticism, key players such as Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, Afridi, and Naseem are not held accountable for their lackluster performances. He emphasized the need for senior players to step up for the team to perform better.
