Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to urgently hold an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting to discuss the ongoing crisis in Gaza. The decision was made during a call between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. Dar strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s remarks and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and the Palestinian cause. Prince Faisal appreciated Pakistan’s consistent support. In a separate call, Dar also reiterated Pakistan’s stance on an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
