Punjab Floods: Death Toll Hits 118, Affecting Over 4.7 Million People – PDMA

The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has reported massive destruction from recent floods in the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers, leaving 118 people dead and affecting over 4,700 villages. According to the report, 4.723 million people have been impacted, with 2.611 million shifted to safer areas. Relief Commissioner Nabeel Javed said 337 relief camps, 429 medical camps, and 368 veterinary camps are active in flood-hit districts. With Mangla Dam at 95% and Tarbela at full capacity, rising water levels in Indian dams have also raised concerns. A damage survey will soon be launched to ensure transparent compensation, while relief efforts for food, shelter, and medical aid continue.
