Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz raises Pakistan hockey team’s prize money from Rs 200,000 to Rs 30 million

Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has made a significant decision to boost the prize money for the national hockey team. Instead of the previous Rs0.2 million, the new prize money will now stand at Rs30 million.

During a recent meeting with the national hockey team, Maryam Nawaz Sharif presented them with a cheque worth 3 crore rupees. She commended the team for their achievements, particularly highlighting the restoration of national pride after a 13-year hiatus.

Assuring the team of her unwavering support, along with the Prime Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif pledged to rejuvenate the national hockey team. She stressed the historical significance of hockey for Pakistan and committed to taking necessary measures to uplift the sport.

Furthermore, Maryam Nawaz instructed the provincial sports authorities to devise strategies aimed at promoting sports participation. She reiterated her dedication to sports development in Punjab and emphasized the establishment of sports academies to nurture budding talents.
