Babar Azam breaks Virat Kohli’s record for the most fifty-plus scores in T20Is

Pakistan’s T20I captain, Babar Azam, has reached a historic milestone by surpassing India’s Virat Kohli in T20 International cricket records.

In the recent T20I series against Ireland, Babar displayed exceptional skill, achieving the highest number of fifty-plus scores in T20Is. He reached this milestone with a total of 39 fifty-plus scores in 110 innings, overtaking Kohli’s previous record of 38 fifty-plus scores in 109 innings.

Babar’s consistent performance and ability to convert opportunities into significant scores have earned widespread praise. Notably, he has three T20I centuries, compared to Kohli’s one.

Additionally, Babar is on the verge of becoming the first Pakistani cricketer to surpass 4000 runs in T20I cricket. He currently has 3955 runs, trailing behind Kohli and Rohit Sharma. With just 82 more runs needed to exceed Kohli’s total runs in T20Is, Babar is poised to make his mark in the record books.

This remarkable achievement comes as Pakistan celebrates their T20I series victory against Ireland. The team now looks forward to a four-match T20I series against England, starting on May 22nd.
