The Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology recently reviewed the registration and licensing of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) in Pakistan and their impact on the IT sector.The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) revealed that over 30,000 VPNs have been registered since December 2010.From January 2025, the PTA will begin issuing licenses for VPN usage to regulate their operation and promote IT sector growth.
