PPP and PML-N agree to form the government with Zardari as President and Shehbaz as Prime Minister

After extensive deliberation and contemplation spanning several days, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have reached a mutual decision to collaborate in forming a government at the Centre. This consensus arises from the absence of a clear victor in the February 8th election, where no single party secured adequate seats.

The announcement of this partnership follows a period of uncertainty. Representatives from both parties underscored their reengagement, citing their shared conviction that it is in the nation’s best interest. The PPP and PML-N aspire to assume leadership in addressing the country’s challenges, with a particular emphasis on economic revitalization.

Their strategy involves nominating Shehbaz Sharif for the role of prime minister and Asif Ali Zardari for president. Central to their agenda is the enhancement of the nation’s economy.
