The federal government has raised petrol prices by Rs8.36 per litre, setting the new rate at Rs266.79 for the next 15 days, as per the Finance Ministry’s notification. High-speed diesel has also increased by Rs10.39, bringing its price to Rs272.98. The hike follows recommendations from OGRA and other ministries. Earlier reports had speculated a sharper increase, with petrol expected to rise by Rs15 and diesel by Rs20 per litre.
