The Government of Pakistan has decided not to support or pursue legal action for Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s release from a U.S. prison, without providing a clear reason. During a hearing at the Islamabad High Court, the Additional Attorney General informed the court of the government’s stance but failed to explain the rationale behind it. Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq questioned the lack of justification, stating that such decisions are never made without valid reasons.
