Passport issuance suspended nationwide in Pakistan due to technical fault

The passport issuance procedure in Pakistan faced a significant disruption when the system linked to the NADRA database encountered an unexpected technical failure. This unforeseen glitch led to the nationwide suspension of passport issuance operations, leaving applicants in a state of uncertainty as the system could not access and process their information.

Fortunately, IT experts promptly tackled the issue, successfully re-establishing the connection between the suspended system and the NADRA database, thereby enabling the resumption of passport services across the entire country. In addition to this technical hiccup, there has been a recent revision in the official delivery time for regular passport applications.

This timeframe has now been extended to a maximum of 21 working days, which represents a significant increase from the previous 10-day processing period. These adjustments reflect changes in the passport processing timeline, and applicants should be prepared for a potentially longer waiting period for their passports due to these modifications.
