Pakistan will play against Japan in the final of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2024

Pakistan and Japan have secured their berths in the final of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2024 in Malaysia. The ultimate showdown between these two teams is scheduled for May 11 at the same venue.

Pakistan currently leads the points table with three wins and one draw from four matches. Similarly, Japan boasts an equal number of wins and draws. Close behind are Malaysia and New Zealand, both with six points each.

On the flip side, Korea sits in fifth place with three points, while Canada, still pursuing a win, occupies the sixth position. In a recent face-off against Canada, Pakistan staged an impressive comeback after trailing 2-0 in the initial 17 minutes. Eventually, they clinched a thrilling 5-4 victory.

Abu Bakr Mahmood played a pivotal role with two goals, while Arshad Liaqat, Rana Waheed Ashraf, and Ghazanfar Ali each contributed one goal. Despite Canada’s efforts, which included two goals from Sean Davis and one each from Harbir Sindhu and Avjot Buttar, Pakistan emerged triumphant.
