Pakistan, India Extend Ceasefire Until May 18: Confirms Dar

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced that Pakistan and India have mutually agreed to extend the ceasefire until May 18. Speaking in the Senate, Dar clarified that Pakistan never initiated a request for ceasefire during the recent tensions. He shared that the first communication came from U.S. Senator Marco Rubio on May 10 at 8:15 am, stating India’s willingness to halt hostilities. Dar responded positively, expressing Pakistan’s readiness if India was on board. Following diplomatic talks, the ceasefire was initially extended to May 12, then to May 14, and now further to May 18.
