Pakistan Expected to Receive $1.2 Billion IMF Tranche on Dec 9

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has scheduled an executive board meeting on December 8 to approve the release of $1.2 billion for Pakistan under two ongoing programs. The funds include $1 billion from the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and $200 million from the Resilience and Sustainability Fund (RSF), following a Staff-Level Agreement (SLA) reached on October 14. The amount is expected to be credited to Pakistan’s account on December 9, raising total IMF disbursements to $3.3 billion. Ahead of the meeting, Pakistan is likely to release the long-awaited Governance and Corruption Diagnostic Report, a key reform requirement under the EFF.
