Karachi police have filed a human trafficking case against two female staff members of a private clinic in Malir after a newborn was allegedly taken from his family and sold in Punjab due to their inability to pay medical expenses. According to officials, the baby was recovered from Lahore and reunited with his parents, while the clinic has been sealed. The case, registered at Memon Goth police station on November 1, was filed by the baby’s father, Sarang Khan. The FIR revealed that Khan’s wife delivered the baby at the clinic, where a doctor demanded payment for surgery. When the family couldn’t afford it, a woman offered to cover the cost in exchange for adopting the child. The baby was then handed over, but later traced and recovered as police continue efforts to arrest the suspects.
