MWM Ends nationwide sit-ins over the Kurram issue

Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas has announced the end of the party’s nationwide sit-ins after a peace agreement was reached in Kurram.

Earlier, police took action to clear MWM’s central sit-in at Numaish, where party members had been protesting in support of the people of Parachinar and Kurram Agency since December 24. The situation worsened when police used batons and tear gas to disperse the crowd.

The protests caused significant traffic jams in Karachi, creating difficulties for residents.

The breakthrough came when the Kurram grand jirga successfully brought both sides of the conflict to an agreement, restoring peace in the area.
