Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad, Reza Amiri Moghadam, has expressed Iran’s willingness to support Pakistan by providing cost-effective gas, electricity, and oil. He conveyed this commitment during a dinner conversation when the topic arose.
Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam also discussed plans for establishing direct flights between the capitals of Iran and Pakistan. While Pakistan has agreed to this proposal, the final approval is pending from their Cabinet.
Furthermore, he mentioned a reciprocal agreement where Iranian and Pakistani airlines could operate flights to each other’s countries. Presently, flights run from Lahore and Karachi to Mashhad. Regarding the challenging prospect of a gas pipeline between Iran and Pakistan, he acknowledged the complexities arising from U.S. regulations but emphasized Iran’s determination to find a solution to ensure Pakistan’s access to gas. Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam acknowledged Pakistan’s energy deficiencies and reiterated Iran’s commitment to assisting by providing affordable gas, electricity, and oil.
