Imran Khan Rearrested in Cipher Case Post Attock Jail Release

Following the suspension of his sentence in the Toshakhana criminal case, the Former Prime Minister has once again found himself under arrest. This recent detention is related to the cipher case, and he is expected to remain in judicial remand until August 30. The announcement of this decision came from Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of the Official Secrets Act court.

The special court has dispatched the official verdict to the superintendent of Attock Jail, with explicit instructions to produce the Former PM in court on August 30. The judge has underscored that the individual is being held in judicial remand in connection with a case governed by the Official Secrets Act.

Consequently, he will be held in custody until the specified date for his court appearance. Previously, the Islamabad High Court had suspended the Former PM’s sentence in the Toshakhana criminal case.

A division bench presided over by IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri had granted the Former PM’s appeal, leading to this decision.
