Hackers Scam Multiple Lawmakers Through Online Fraud, Senate Committee Reveals

The Senate Standing Committee on Interior, led by Senator Faisal Saleem, was informed that hackers have scammed several parliament members out of hundreds of thousands of rupees through online fraud. Senator Saifullah Abro revealed that the hackers usually demand between Rs 500,000 and Rs 550,000 from their victims. It was reported that Rs 850,000 were stolen from Senator Dilawar Khan’s account, while Senator Falak Naz Chitrali lost Rs 500,000 in two transactions after being deceived by hackers posing as a counseling center. Senator Falak Naz said the hackers had access to her personal and family details, including information about her children, and despite complaints to the NCCIA, no action was taken. Committee members expressed deep concern and urged immediate measures to stop online scams and financial fraud. Further updates are expected as the meeting continues.
