NADRA has discovered over 250,000 fake Pakistani CNICs, mostly issued to Afghan nationals, in a recent crackdown on fraudulent ID cards. Using advanced software, the authority found that many fake IDs were obtained through agents who added foreign nationals to Pakistani family trees for money. Most cases were reported in Pishin, Chaman, and Quetta, where many citizens were unaware their family records had been altered. NADRA has started automatically blocking these fake CNICs, and holders have been asked to visit NADRA offices for verification. Unverified CNICs will be permanently blocked after the deadline.
