Govt Hikes Fuel Prices by Up to Rs4.07

The government has raised petrol and diesel prices from October 1, 2025, citing global oil market shifts and exchange rate impact. Petrol now costs Rs. 268.68 per liter after a Rs. 4.07 hike, while diesel stands at Rs. 276.81 with a Rs. 4.04 increase. Officials said the revision is aimed at managing energy imports and ensuring stable fuel supply, though it adds to the burden of rising living costs for the public.
