Finland to Close Its Embassy in Pakistan

Finland has announced that it will close its embassies in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Myanmar by 2026 as part of a major restructuring of its global diplomatic network. Finnish officials say the decision is driven by changing political conditions that have made diplomatic operations difficult, along with limited economic engagement in the region. By scaling back in countries with lower activity, Finland plans to redirect its resources toward nations with stronger economic or strategic importance for its long-term goals.
