Enaam Ahmed created history on Sunday by becoming the first Pakistani to achieve a top-five finish in the prestigious INDY NXT Grand Prix, a Formula car racing event held in Alabama, United States.
The event took place at the Barber Motorsports Park, with 18 competitors vying for the top spot. British-Pakistani race car driver, Ahmed, who has had an unyielding passion for the sport, put his abilities to the test and impressively secured fourth place in the competition.
The delighted athlete took to Instagram to share the news, stating, “P9-P4 and lots of points, hope you guys enjoyed the race”.
Local media quoted Ahmed as saying, “I am delighted with the result and the efforts put in by my team Cape Motorsports, especially as this is their first year in this series. I gained many points and was pleased to finish ahead of the championship leader. There were some issues in the first 3-5 minutes, but I managed to overcome them, and there was no turning back.” He also mentioned that it was an honor for him to represent Pakistan by displaying the country’s flag on his car.
