PM Shehbaz urges national unity and dialogue against terrorism after the Balochistan train attack

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for national unity and dialogue to combat terrorism following the hijacking of the Jaffar Express train in Balochistan’s Bolan district. The incident occurred on Tuesday when terrorists from the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) ambushed the train traveling from Quetta to Peshawar with 440 passengers. Security forces launched a two-day operation, and by Wednesday evening, ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that 33 terrorists were neutralized. The attack resulted in the deaths of 21 passengers and four Frontier Corps personnel, but no hostages were harmed during the final rescue phase. PM Shehbaz visited Quetta with federal ministers to assess the security situation in a high-level meeting.
