US Calls Palestinian Recognition ‘Fake,’ Warns of Possible Response

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned that recognizing Palestine as a state would create complications and termed such moves as “fake and unrealistic.” Speaking in Ecuador, Rubio criticized France and other nations considering recognition, cautioning that it could push Israel to annex parts of the West Bank. He emphasized that recognition at this stage would escalate tensions, hinder ceasefire efforts in Gaza, and intensify Israel’s military operations. Rubio reiterated Washington’s stance during talks with Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa, stressing that recognition would only create further problems in the region.
