The UAE has announced that starting January 2, 2026, all mosques across the country will hold Friday prayers simultaneously. The General Authority of Islamic Affairs confirmed that both the sermon and prayer will begin at 12:45 PM nationwide. Previously, each emirate, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the northern regions, followed different timings, often causing confusion for residents and travelers moving between cities.
