US President Donald Trump has introduced a new “Gold Card” scheme, offering wealthy foreigners a fast-track path to US residency for $1 million. According to the official details, only applicants who provide a “substantial benefit” to the country will qualify.
The launch comes as Washington ramps up its immigration crackdown, increasing visa restrictions and deportations of undocumented migrants. Positioned as Trump’s alternative to tighter immigration rules, the Gold Card functions similar to a Green Card, allowing non-US citizens to live and work in the United States with quicker approval.
Calling it a stronger and more powerful version of the Green Card, Trump said the program offers an enhanced path to legal residency for “great people.”
