Social media activist Zafar Abbas to receive Tamgha-e-Imtiaz Award

On August 14th, 2023, in commemoration of Independence Day, President Arif Alvi bestowed awards upon 304 Pakistani and foreign individuals who have significantly enriched society through their contributions. Nonetheless, the official award ceremony has been slated for Pakistan Day, March 23rd, 2024. Among the 118 esteemed recipients of the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz Award, Syed Zafar Abbas Jafri stands out.

Syed Zafar Abbas Jafri, the visionary behind the Jafriya Disaster Management Cell Welfare Organization (JDC), is set to receive the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz Award in recognition of his invaluable societal contributions. Hailing from a modest background in Karachi, Zafar Abbas has been an instrumental force in driving positive transformations. Through his organization, JDC, he has devised pragmatic solutions to pressing social challenges, particularly within the realms of Education and Healthcare. By addressing the obstacles faced by the less privileged, he has left an indelible imprint.

His unwavering commitment has not only alleviated the plight of the marginalized but has also paved the way for a more equitable future. The Tamgha-i-Imtiaz Award aptly acknowledges Syed Abbas’s relentless efforts in effecting substantial change within his community.
