Sindh Police Fails to Provide Protection: Another Man Shot Dead for Resisting Robbery in Karachi

Another tragic incident occurred in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar, where a young man lost his life at the hands of armed robbers due to his resistance, as reported by ARY News on Wednesday, citing the police.

According to a police spokesperson, the unfortunate sequence of events transpired when two armed suspects, riding a motorcycle, intercepted the young man, identified as Muhammad Saad, near Johar Mor. When he attempted to resist, one of the suspects opened fire and fled the scene. The victim’s body was subsequently transported to the hospital to complete the necessary medico-legal procedures.

The police highlighted that the investigation team could not locate the victim’s mobile phone at the scene and mentioned that efforts were underway to identify the culprits using surveillance cameras installed in the vicinity.

In the meantime, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has taken cognizance of the incident and instructed the Additional Inspector-General (AIG) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of the young man’s death.

It’s distressing to note that the number of individuals killed during robbery attempts in Karachi has reached 108 this year. In a separate incident in September, a 65-year-old woman named Kishwar was fatally attacked by dacoits during a robbery attempt in Karachi’s Orangi Town area. The perpetrators robbed cash and valuable items from her house after she had recently sold an embroidery machine for Rs3.5 million.
