Sindh Govt Reduces E-Challan Fines Following Public Demand

The Sindh government has decided to revise and lower traffic fines under its new AI-based e-ticketing system, Tracs, following public and political backlash over high penalties. Since its launch, around 30,000 e-challans have been issued, sparking complaints about excessive fines and technical errors. Sindh IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon stated that the system’s goal is to enhance road safety and reduce violations, but acknowledged the need for better coordination among departments. The government plans to reduce fines while keeping the AI system active to ensure fairness and public trust. The updated fine structure is expected to be announced by the end of November.
