Sindh declares holiday on September 7

The Sindh Education Department has officially declared the closure of both private and government schools on September 7. This determination was reached by the education department’s steering committee.

September 7 is dedicated to observing mourning processions in various cities and towns across the country to pay homage to the martyrs of Karbala.

Chehlum, observed 40 days after Ashura, commemorates the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions who laid down their lives in the Battle of Karbala in 61 A.H.
