Construction of the Munawar Chowrangi underpass in Gulistan-e-Johar has missed the one-month deadline set by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, with work still in its early stages. Despite instructions issued during a February 27 visit to complete the project within 30 days, progress remains slow, with excavation still ongoing and several key phases pending. These include structural work, retaining walls, roofing, and finishing tasks such as plastering, electrical systems, and drainage. Officials said delays in relocating gas pipelines at two points have further slowed progress. The ongoing construction has also caused traffic disruptions, forcing commuters to take longer routes and adding to congestion in the area.
