Shaheen Afridi is Nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award

The ICC has unveiled the contenders for the Player of the Month accolades for April, recognizing exceptional performances in both Men’s and Women’s cricket.

In the Women’s category, standout players include Chamari Athapaththu from Sri Lanka, Hayley Matthews from the West Indies, and Laura Wolvaardt from South Africa. Athapaththu dazzled with her remarkable batting prowess in ODIs and T20Is. Matthews showcased her multifaceted skills in batting and bowling, while Wolvaardt impressed with her stellar batting displays.

In the Men’s division, nominees feature Shaheen Shah Afridi from Pakistan, Gerhard Erasmus from Namibia, and Muhammad Waseem from the UAE. Afridi’s stellar bowling performance in the T20I series against New Zealand secured his nomination. Erasmus led Namibia to triumph in Oman with his outstanding all-round contributions. Waseem garnered attention for his consistent batting in the ACC Premier Cup.

The ultimate winners will be determined through a voting process involving the ICC Voting Academy and cricket enthusiasts worldwide. The announcement is slated for the second Monday of the month on the ICC’s digital platforms.
